Face and eyebrow lifts using aptos threads
The soft tissues of the facial skin are lifted and stretched using thin polypropylene threads. The aptos threads are inserted, with a thin needle, under the dermis layer, take hold of the skin tissue, stretch it and set it firmly in place. This procedure is performed under local anesthetic and there is no need for bandaging, any pain or scars. The procedure takes about 30 minutes, depending on the number of areas and how many threads are needed in each area (usually 2-3 threads). The effect of the threads lasts, in average, for about 5 years. It depends on the age of the patient and the treated area. After 5 years the threads can be re-tightened.
Possible side effects: local hemorrhage for a few days, infections, which can be treated with antibiotics. In extreme cases the threads may be removed.
The aptos threads have the European CE, American FDA ant the Israeli Ministry of Health approvals.
The procedure is not appropriate for very old skin or a significant "fall" of the face.
