Injections of Botulinum – Botox / Dysport
Botox and Dysport are actually two competing brands of Clostridium Botulinum type A.When this protein is injected it causes a partial chemical disconnection of specific muscles in the connective area between the muscle and the nerve. This artificial disconnection causes the contracted muscle to partially relax and the wrinkle in the skin above to straighten and stretch. In aesthetic medicine Botox/Dysport injections are used to straighten and tighten wrinkles and fine lines, mostly expression wrinkles that appear between the eyebrows, across the forehead and wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes.
The procedure is performed in 2 stages:
In the first stage:
The Botulinum is injected into 3 major anatomical areas – the forehead, around the eyes and between the eyebrows. Dr. Imas has developed an optimized method of Botulinum injections to achieve better results:
- Injecting into an anatomical area in the scalp area in order to optimally achieve an additional lift of the forehead, eyelids and eyebrows and a light slanting of the eyes.
- When injecting in the sides of the eyes, Dr. Imas adds additional injection points, because it is well known that the effect of the material in these areas is partial and shorter.
- Injection of Botulinum into the delicate area under the eyes, in order to smooth-out the fine lines under the eyes and to enlarge the eye opening.
- Injection of Botulinum to reduce the “bunny lines” on both sides of the upper part of the nose.
- Using a unique injection technique, Dr. Imas causes a very gentle lifting of the nose-tip without surgical intervention.
In the second stage:
about a month after the injection it is very important to return to the clinic for inspection. In some cases an additional injection will be given to correct small asymmetries or to achieve maximal results.
